Guest Organ Recitals

Each term we welcome three of the best organists in the country or from further afield to put the new organ through its paces. Organ recitals are at 5:30pm on Mondays and last for one hour. Tickets are £10 (£5 Students) and are available on the door or online via the links below. All Monday recitals are followed by refreshments in the Antechapel, with a chance to meet the recitalist. CHRISTOPHER ALLSOP

Christopher Allsop, Organist of Eton College, presents a diverse recital of organ music by composers spanning seven centuries, including Shostakovich's Passacaglia from Lady Macbeth of Mtsesnk and Reger's Introduction and Passacaglia.

PETER HOLDER

Peter Holder, Organist of Christ Church, Oxford, and former Sub-Organist of Westminser Abbey, presents a recital featuring music by British composers, including Handel’s Overture to The Occasional Oratorio (arr. W.T. Best), Walton’s Crown Imperial (arr. Murrill), and Errollyn Wallen’s Variations on a Dance.

ISABELLE DEMERS

Canadian concert organist Isabelle Demers presents a thrilling recital featuring Mendelssohn’s Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Nadia Boulanger’s Prelude, Cecilia McDowall’s evocative Church Bells beyond the Stars, and Brahms’s Variations on a Theme of Handel in a dazzling arrangement by Rachel Laurin.
